LOCAL AMENITIES
La Crotterie is 2 km from the village which has its own boulangerie, patisserie, small general store, pharmacy, bank and butchers. It has a good-value local restaurant, bar and post office. Deer, red squirrels and birds of prey are often seen in the area. The local traditional markets of Fougeres, Ernee, and St Hilaire du Harcouet are well worth visiting and Fougeres boasts the largest walled chateau in Europe. Local cider and goat's cheese can be bought direct from the producers. A half day's visit to the picturesque old town of Vitre or to the villages of Juvigne or Chailland which have outstanding floral displays are to be recommended. The coastal towns of Concale, Mont St Michel, St Malo and Dinard are within an hour's drive and slightly further afield are smaller, quieter beaches. A visit to the beaches of the Normandy landings or the Bayeux tapestry makes an interesting day's excursion and for the athletic, canoeing and other sporting activities are available at Ambrieres de la Vallee. During the season fishing is available on many of the local lakes with a permit.
THE COTTAGE
Has been recently renovated to a high standard and has spacious, comfortable accommodation for up to 6 people. It has its own boules pitch and a 5 ½ meter diameter pool
GROUND FLOOR
A large open plan area with exposed oak beams and an enclosed cloakroom
and toilet off. The area includes a fitted kitchen with ample cupboards
and work surfaces and a 4 burner cooker, fridge with freezing compartment
and microwave. Cooking utensils, crockery, cutlery and serving dishes
are provided.
A dining table with chairs, sideboard and display unit and a leather 2seater
and 3 seater settee and armchair are provided. There is a wood burning
fire, a television, video and DVD player. A staircase leads into the
MEZZANINE
A large first floor area with 2 single beds and a wardrobe. Off
this area are the bathroom and 2 further bedrooms.
BATHROOM
The property has an attractive, fully tiled bathroom comprising
bath with temperature controlled shower, a toilet and hand basin.
BEDROOM 1
A double bed and bedroom furniture are provided in this room. It
has beautiful views of the woods through the full length window from which
blue tits and red squirrels can be watched in the cherry tree.
BEDROOM 2
Also with a double bed and bedroom furniture.
OUTSIDE AREA
There is a large terrace with views of the woods and lake with patio
furniture and BBQ
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Bed linen, electricity ,gas and a welcome pack are provided. There
is also a washing machine available in an adjoining room. A 4 course meal
can be provided on request at an additional charge. Adult bikes are available
for hire. On the day of departure the cottage should be vacated by 10:30
am so that it will be ready for occupation by the new holidaymakers at
4:00 pm.
